المستخلص: يدرس هذا البحث سبعة عشر شاهدا تضمنت نصوصا شعرية واردة في كتاب (أحجار المعلاة الشاهدية بمكة المكرمة)، فنقل البيانات الرئيسة منه، ثم أضاف وزن الأبيات، وناقش القراءة وتخريج النصوص التأريخية إذ سبق أن كتبت على قبور كما ذكرت المصادر، وبعضها يترجح أنها من إنشاء أقارب الميت ولم ترد في مصادر أخرى -حسب اطلاع الباحث -، وكذلك تغيير ألفاظ الشعر في النقش لتناسب العزاء، وكذلك الخلل في الكتابة والوزن في بعضها، وغير ذلك من نتائج.

This study discusses seventeen gravestones containing poetic texts contained in the book “Ahjaar al-Mo’alla al-Shahidiyyah bi-Makkah al-Mukarramah” The most impor¬tant information contained therein has been copied, the poetic meters studied, following which the reading and interpretation of the verses was undertaken, leading up to a con¬sideration of their poetic value. Among the major characteristics of these poetic inscrip¬tions is their historical significance (as some of them have been inscribed on grave markers, as mentioned in the sources, while others were probably written by the rela¬tives of the deceased and were not reported in other sources, to the best of the research¬er’s knowledge. Moreover, it is possible to observe how the words in the inscriptions were changed to make them fit the theme of condolence. The study also draws attention to deficiencies in the style of writing as well as in the meters of some of the verses, along with other conclusions.
