|a صنف أهل العلم مصنفات كثيرة في الحديث وعلومه حفظوا فيها السنة النبوية، وأقاويل الصحابة والتابعين، وما زالوا يبتكرون ألوانا جديدة من التصانيف لخدمتها، وكان من بين هذه المصنفات ما يسمى بـــــــ " كتب الافتتاحيات والختوم في الحديث"، فجاء هذا البحث ليكشف لنا اللثام عن هذا النوع من التصنيف وتجليته للمهتمين. وقد بينت فيه تعريف هذه الكتب، ونشأتها، وتطور التصنيف فيها. ثم ذكرت المصنفات فيها، المطبوع منها والمخطوط، وكذلك بينت مناهج العلماء في هذه المصنفات، وفوائد هذا اللون من التصنيف. وكانت أهم نتائج البحث أن كتب الافتتاحيات والختوم لها أهمية بالغة لما تحويه من معلومات قيمة حيث تعد مادة خصبة لمناهج المحدثين في كتبهم.

|b Scholars produced many works that preserved the Prophet's tradition as well as the companions and followers' proverbs. Moreover, they are developing other new types of manuscripts that serve this purpose. One of these manuscript types is called the introductions and conclusions of prophet's traditions "Al-iftetahyat and alkhotoom". This work aims to explore that type of manuscripts for interested scholars. The work defines this type of manuscripts, its origin, and evolution. Then listed the manuscripts, either printed or hand-written. In addition, the work presented the scholars approaches, methodology, and the benefits from such manuscripts. The research concluded that the written introductions and conclusions are crucial due to its valuable information that forms a base material to prophet's tradition scholars (Muhadditheen) books.
