المستخلص: The Impact of the Number of Distracters in Multiple Choice Item Tests on the Estimation of the Psychometric Characteristics of the Items Using Item Response Theory This study aimed at identifying the the impact of the number of distracters in multiple choice item tests on the estimation of the psychometric characteristics of the items using the two-parameter model of the Item Response Theory (IRT). In order to achieve this aim, a multiple choice test was constructed. It consisted of thirty multiple choice items and it has three forms that are similar in content but different in the number of distracters. The first form consisted of two distracters for each item, the second consisted of three distracters, and the third form consisted of four distracters. The study sample consisted of (1500) male and female students. Each form was applied to 500 students. Bilog-mg3 software was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there is a correspondence between most of the test items and all the study sample individuals with the assumptions of the two-parameter model. There is also an impact for the number of distracters on the accuracy of estimating ability in favor of the four distracters while there is no impact for the number of distracters on the accuracy of estimating the psychometric characteristics of the study items. There are no statistically significant differences in the accuracy of estimating the psychometric characteristics for the test due to the variable of the number of distracters of the test items.

هدفت الدراسة للكشف عن أثر عدد مموهات فقرات الاختيار من متعدد على تقدير الخصائص السيكومترية للفقرات والاختبار وفق نظرية الاستجابة للفقرة باستخدام النموذج الثنائي المعلمة ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم بناء اختبار تكون من (30) فقرة من نوع الاختيار من متعدد لثلاثة نماذج تتشابه بالمتن وتختلف فقط بعدد المموهات، النموذج الأول كان عدد المموهات (2) لكل فقرة، والنموذج الثّاني ثلاثة مموهات لكل فقرة، والنموذج الثالث أربعة مموهات لكل فقرة، تكونت عينة الدراسة من (1500) طالب وطالبة بواقع (500) طالب وطالبة لكل نموذج من النماذج الثلاثة، استخدمت برمجية (BILOG-MG3) لتحليل البيانات، أظهرت النتائج مطابقة معظم فقرات الاختبار ومطابقة جميع أفراد عينة الدراسة لافتراضات النموذج الثنائي المعلمة، وأظهرت النتائج وجود أثر لعدد المموهات على دقة تقدير القدرة ولصالح مجموعة اختبار الأربعة مموهات، وعدم وجود أثر لعدد المموهات على دقة تقدير الخصائص السيكومترية لفقرات الاختبار.
