المستخلص: هي تعبير لا يقصد منه المعنى الحقيقي، أو هي: تعبير استعمل في غير معناه الأصلي (الخيالي) الذي وضع له مع جواز إرادة المعنى الأصلي له (الحقيقي) وهي سر جمال الكناية: الإتيان بالمعنى مصحوباً بالدليل عليه في إنجاز وتجسيم، وهي علم صدر باب أو أم أو بنت أو ابن وأكثرها طارئ على مسمياتها ولم توضح لها ابتداء، ويكفي فلان بذكر كنيته عند الحرب ليعرف وهو من شعار المبارزين وبكذا تسمى به وتستعمل مع الاسم واللقب أو بدونهما تفخيماً لشأن صاحبهما أن يذكر اسمه مجرداً وتكون لأشرف الناس وقد كنى بعض من أجناس الحيوان فالأسد يكني بأبي حارث والضبع أم عامر ونحو ذلك كثير شائع في كلام العرب والكناية عن الشيء الذي يستوحش ذكره بما يدل عليه، والجمع (كنى).
والأم هي: الحسب والعماد والمسكن والوذيلة (الأصل والمرجع والجماعة والدين. وعند جمع أم علي "أمهات" لمن جمع اللفظ المفرد الأم والأمهة وتجمع على هذا اللفظ لمن أمه من الأدميات أو الناس أو في من يعقل، وقد جمعت الأم على لفظ (أمات) بتشديد الميم وهي لغير العاقل وللبهائم.
وقد جمعت لفظة (ام) على (أمهات، وأمات) من دون التمييز بينهما أو تفصيل، فاستعملت للعاقل تارة ولغير العاقل تارة أخرى.
يتكون البحث من ثلاث مباحث، حيث إن المبحث الأول وفيه كنايات عدة عن الأم وهي لمكني واحد، والمبحث الثاني وفيه كناية واحدة عن الأم تدل على معان عدة، بينما المبحث الثالث وفيه كناية واحدة للام لمكني واحد.

So the lion is Abu Harith, The hyena is Umm 'Amer, and so on which is widespread in the language of the Arabs and the Kinaya ‘metaphor’ about something that is obstinate to mention by what it indicates, and the plural is (nickname).
The mother is: the count, the pillar, the dwelling and the roots (Origin, reference, community and religion). The plural of Umm ‘mother’ is Ummahat “mothers” for one who compiles the singular word mother and mother, and it is agreed upon by this word to one of the human beings or people, or in one who has a mind. The word Al-Umm ‘mother’ came together from the word “amaat”, with the Shaddah on the letter Meem, and that is applicable to those who do not have a mind and the animals.
The word Al-Umm “mother” was combined with “Ummahaat ‘mother’ and Amaat ‘mother’” without any distinction or detail. It was used for the sane being sometimes and for the insane being at other time.
The research consists of three researches, where the first research contains several Kinayas about the mother, which are for one place , and the second chapter contains one metaphor about the mother which indicates several meanings, while the third one contains one metaphor for the mother.
