يعد التدريس مهنة فنية دقيقة تحتاج إلى إعداد جيد لمن يقوم بممارستها فهي ليست مجرد أداء يمارسه أي فرد وفقا لما يمتلكه من قدرة عامة، ومهنة التدريس لا تعني مجرد نقل المعلومات من معلم إلى طالب ولكنها تهدف أساسا إلى تعديل السلوك، أي أن عملية التدريس لابد أن يصاحبها تعلم حقيقي وإلا فقدت معناها وأهميتها. أن برامج إعداد المعلم تختلف من دولة إلى أخرى، مما يرتب عليه وجود فروق في امتلاك الكفايات الأساسية من عضوا إلى آخر بناء على اختلاف برامج الإعداد بالإضافة إلى أن تطور برامج الاتصالات، واستخدام الكمبيوتر في مجالات التربية يفرض على المعلمين ضرورة تنمية استعداداتهم، وامتلاك مهارات جديدة لمواكبة التفجر المعرفي، والاستفادة منه، والاستعداد له. وتطوير مهارات المعلم أصبح ضرورة ملحة تقتضيها طبيعة تطور مفاهيم التربية، وتجددها، وتنوع أساليب التعليم، وظهور المستحدثات في مجال تقنيات التعليم ووسائله، وبذلك يتسنى للمعلم متابعة التطورات المختلفة، واكتساب المعارف والخبرات الثقافية والاجتماعية الجديدة وبنائها وتطويرها، وبرامج تطوير المعلمين تحرص على تزويدهم بأحداث ما وصلت إليه البحوث التربوية في مجالات التعليم والتعلم وبذلك تضمن رفع مستوى أداء المعلم وبالتالي رفع إنتاجية التعلم الذي هو ركيزة أساسية من ركائز التنمية. وهدف البحث إلى وضع رؤية مستقبلية لتنمية المهارات التدريسية الخاصة بالمعلمين أثناء الخدمة في ضوء احتياجاتهم التدريسية بدولة الكويت. ومن خلال عرض ومناقشة النتائج والاستنتاجات التي توصل إليها الباحثان يوصيان بالآتي: -إعداد دليل شامل لإعداد المعلمين وتدريبهم يتضمن أهم الأساليب الحديثة في إعداد المعلم وتدريبه. -توحيد الجهة المسؤولة عن إعداد وتدريب المعلم، وأن تتولى الجامعة ممثله بكلية التربية المسؤولية الكاملة المتعلقة بإعداد وتدريب المعلم وذلك لتوحيد الأهداف والاقتصاد في النفقات ولضمان مستوى الإعداد ونوعيته.
