المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة النظرية إلى التعرف على مدى نمو المكتبات الرقمية في ظل إدارة المعرفة، واعتمدت الدراسة اعتماداً رئيسياً على التنظير في المصادر العربية والأجنبية المتوافرة في هذا المجال لتحقيق هدف الدراسة في إطار منهجي نظري يدور حول إدارة المعرفة بالمكتبات الرقمية للتعرف على مدى وجود تطبيق للعصر الرقمي في مكتباتنا، وذلك من خلال محورين رئيسين. تناول المحور الأول أثر إدارة المعرفة في تحويل المكتبات التقليدية إلى المكتبات الرقمية. والمحور الثاني إسهامات إدارة المعرفة في تطوير تطبيقات المكتبات الرقمية بعصر العولمة. ناقشت الدراسة الإسهامات الفعالة للمكتبات الرقمية في ظل إدارة المعرفة بالجامعات كمؤسسات تعليمية أركانها الرئيسية الثلاثة: أستاذ، طالب، مكتبة. ولهذا فإن المكتبات الرقمية في عصر العولمة أصبحت وظيفتها الأساسية ذات أبعاد ثلاثة أيضاً هي نقل المعرفة، إبداع المعرفة، وخدمة المجتمع. وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى عدد من المقترحات والتوصيات التي يمكن لإدارة المعرفة توفير أكبر قدر ممكن من المصادر الإلكترونية الرقمية المتنوعة وإبراز انعكاساتها الإيجابية على المجتمع المعاصر.

Globalization and communication and information technology have played a significant role in forming a global community that has shared knowledge on all topics. Knowledge has become one of the most important components of capital in our present time, and knowledge management has become a measure of the progress of any society. Contemporary societies have become dependent on the availability of a large amount of knowledge and sources of information. The present study relies mainly on the documentary method to review available Arabic and foreign sources relevant to this field in order to achieve the objective of the study within a theoretical and systematic framework revolving around knowledge management in digital libraries in the light of a changing world, and identify if our libraries have real insight into the digital age through two main axes: (1) the effect of knowledge management on transforming traditional libraries into digital ones; and (2) the contribution of knowledge management to the development of digital libraries in the age of globalization. The researchers discussed the effective contributions of digital libraries under knowledge management in universities as educational institutions whose three main pillars are the teacher, the student and the library. Therefore, the main function of digital libraries in the age of globalization has become threefold: transfer of knowledge, creation of knowledge and community service. The researcher have come up with a number of suggestions and recommendations through which knowledge management, with its sources, can provide as many electronic and digital sources as possible because of their positive effects on modern society.
