المستخلص: Many of the historical studies concerned the study of the history of Iraq, but the interest of those academic studies has been limited to the political aspect and in a thorough way, and has produced a series of studies that have received the attention of researchers and specialists, but the study of modern social and economic history in Iraq has not received attention except in the last . Hence, the theme of "The Economic Situation in Baghdad during the First World War 1914-1917" is the title of my studies in order to shed light on certain aspects of the history of Iraq. The study was divided into an introduction and three axes and its conclusion included the most important conclusions reached by the researchers. The first axis was entitled: The decline of internal and external trade and high prices and dealing with the second axis: the phenomena of monopoly and market poverty and countermeasures by the Ottoman authorities, and included the third axis: precautionary measures on supply.
