تعد الطاقة الكهربائية من بين أهم الأنشطة الصناعية بسب تعدد أوجه استعمالاتها في مختلف القطاعات كالمنزلي والصناعي والزراعي والتجاري والحكومي، وتتزايد هذه الأهمية وخاصة في المناطق ذات المناخات الحارة والجافة، ولهذا فان لهذه الصناعة أهمية خاصة عن مختلف الصناعات الأخرى في المنطقة الجنوبية من العراق سيما إذا ما توفرت مقومات هذه الصناعة كالوقود والطلب والأيدي العاملة والنقل وغيرها. يهدف البحث إلى دراسة واقع الطاقة الكهربائية في المنطقة الجنوبية من العراق (البصرة، ذي قار ميسان، المثني) حتى عام 2011 من حيث تطورها التاريخي وعوامل توطنها الصناعي وأثرها في التباين الجغرافي لتوزيع محطات الطاقة الكهربائية في منطقة الدراسة، وواقع إنتاج واستهلاك الطاقة الكهربائية، فضلا عن دراسة أهم المشاكل والتحديات التي تحول دون تطور وتقدم هذه الصناعة، مع بيان رؤية مستقبلية عن هذه الصناعة وحتى عام 2020. وتناولت الدراسة المحاور التالية: أولاً: التطور التاريخي لصناعة الطاقة الكهربائية في المنطقة الجنوبية للمدة (1960 – 2011). ثانياً: عوامل التوطن الصناعي لصناعة الطاقة الكهربائية في المنطقة الجنوبية. ثالثا: التوزيع الجغرافي لإنتاج الطاقة الكهربائية في المنطقة الجنوبية. رابعاً: التوزيع الجغرافي لاستهلاك الطاقة الكهربائية في المنطقة الجنوبية. خامساً: المشاكل التي تعانيها منظومة الطاقة الكهربائية من إنتاج ونقل وتوزيع. سادساً: الآفاق المستقبلية لصناعة الطاقة الكهربائية في المنطقة الجنوبية حتى عام 2020.
The electric power of the most important industrial activities because of the multi of aspects of their uses in various sectors, Like in houses, industrial, agricultural, commercial and government, and increasingly this importance, especially in areas with hot and dry climates, so to this industry especially Importance for various other industries in the southern region of Iraq, particularly if there elements of the industry such as fuel, demand, hands and Transports …. Etc. The research aims to study the actuality of electric power in Southern area from Iraq ( Basrah, Dya Qar , Maysaan, AL Mathnna ) up to year 2011 from history development and The research aims to study the reality of electric power in the southern region of Iraq ( Basra, Dhi Qar, Maysan, AL-Muthanna) until 2011 in their of historical development and the factors of industrial establishment and impact in geographical contrast of the apportionment of electric power stations in the study area, and the reality of the production and manufacture of electric power, as well as for the study of the most important problems and challenges that prevent the development and progression to this industry, with statement of a future vision for this industry until 2020. The study examined the following themes: First : Historical development of the electric power industry in the southern region for period (1960 - 2011). Second: the factors of industrial establishment for electric power industrial in southern region. Third: Geographical distribution of the production of electric energy in the southern region. Fourth: Geographical distribution for electrical energy consumption in the southern region. Fifth: The Problems suffering by the electric power system of production, transmission and distribution. Sixth : Future prospects for the electric power industry in the southern region until 2020.
