تناولت هذه الدراسة تغيرات الخصائص الهيدرومورفية لهور الشافي في محافظة البصرة والآثار البيئية الناجمة عنها، حيث تعد بيئة هور الشافي في محافظة البصرة من البيئات الطبيعية المتكاملة بسكانها ومواردها النباتية والحيوانية وخصائصها الطبيعية المتميزة التي لها دور كبير في عملية التوازن البيئي في المنطقة، غير أن مشاريع التجفيف والانخفاض المستمر في الإيراد المائي المتاح للمحافظة وتناقص الحص المائية المغذية للأهوار انعكس سلبيا على تغير الخصائص الهيدرومورفية لهور الشافي وسبب ارتفاع نسبة الأملاح وبعض العناصر الكيميائية في مياهه، الأمر الذي أدي إلى إحداث تغيرات واضحة على البيئة تمثلت بالتغيرات المناخية المحلية والتصحر وتدهور الأراضي الزراعية وانقراض الأحياء النباتية والحيوانية وتدمير ثروة سمكية مهمة. مما يتطلب إعادة النظر في خطط التنمية الشاملة ووضع البرامج الملائمة لظروف المنطقة لتنمية النظام البيئي الحيوي لهور الشافي. وتطلب العمل استخدام تقنية نظم المعلومات الجغرافية في رسم الخرائط التي تبين سنوات الدراسة (1973، 1990، 2014) لمعرفة الخصائص المورفية (المساحة ونسبية الاستدارة والاستطالة ومعامل الشكل والأبعاد الطولية والعرضية لهور الشافي)، فضلاً عن العمل الحقلي من خلال أخذ (4) عينات مائية لسنة 2014 موزعة على منطقة الدراسة تم تحليلها في شركة نفط الجنوب ومقارنتها مع تحاليل سابقة للمياه لسنة 1998 لمنطقة الدراسة.
This study deals with the changes of the hydro-morphs characteristics of Al-Shafee marsh (Hor el-Shafee) in the governorate of Basrah and the resulting environmental effects on such properties. The environment in Al- Shafee marsh is considered of the complete environments in its population and plantation and of the animal resources and its unique natural characteristics that have a major role in the process of environmental balance in the region. However, the draining and drying projects and the continuing demise in the water share which is available in the governorate, has been reflected in a negative manner on changing the hydro-morphological characteristics of Al-Shafee marsh. This is also, reflected on increasing the proportion of salts and some of the chemical elements available in its waters. This has led to cause clear diverse changes in the environment of this marsh represented by the local climatic conditions and dissertation and the decay of the agricultural areas and the decline of the bio- logical and animal resources in addition to the destruction of the entire fish wealth in the marsh. This has demanded a major review of the development planning in the environmental and biological system of Al-Shafee marsh. This work has demanded the use of geographic information system of map drawing which shows the times of study (1971 ,1999, and 2014) in order to outline the changes taking place in the morphs characteristics (area, proportion of roundabout and elongation and the reservoir shape factor, as well as the longitudinal and transverse dimensions of the marsh). Furthermore, a considerable amount of field work was carried out through the taking of (4) water samples that were distributed on the study area 4104 and were analyzed in the south oil company and then compared with previous studies of the 1998 study region.
