المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى تقييم العلاقة بين سمة التعصب والشخصية أحادية العقلية والتعرف على الفروق بين الذكور والإناث في سمة التعصب وأحادية العقلية، ومدى مساهمة أحادية العقلية في التنبؤ بالتعصب، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (146) شاباً جامعياً (74 ذكور-70 إناث)، تم سحبها بطريقة عشوائية من الدراسين بكلية التربية، جامعة القصيم بالمملكة العربية السعودية. بينما تكونت أدوات الدراسة من مقياس أحادية العقلية-2، ومقياس سمة التعصب، وتم تطبيقهما في جلسات جماعية بعد التحقق من صلاحيتهما السيكومترية. وكشفت نتائج الدراسة عن وجود علاقة ارتباطية موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين سمة التعصب وأحادية العقلية، كما يوجد علاقة ارتباطية موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين أحادية العقلية وأبعاد سمة التعصب: الاندفاعية، والرفض دون اعتبارات منطقية، والتحيز، والتعاطف الانفعالي والتسمك بوجهة النظر الشخصية، عند عينة الدراسة من الذكور والإناث. إلى جانب أن هناك فروقاً ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطات درجات مجموعتي مرتفعي ومنخفضي الدرجات على مقياس أحادية العقلية-2 في سمة التعصب، وأن هذه الفروق كانت لصالح مجموعة مرتفعي الدرجات على أحادية العقلية-2، بالإضافة إلى أنه لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الذكور والإناث في الدرجة الكلية لأحادية العقلية وسمة التعصب وأبعاد (الاندفاعية، والرفض دون اعتبارات منطقية، التحيز) في سمة التعصب، كما توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الذكور والإناث في بعدي سمة التعصب (التمسك بوجهة النظر الشخصية، والتعاطف الانفعالي) لصالح مجموعة الإناث. إضافة إلى إمكانية التنبؤ بدرجة التعصب أو أبعاده-الاندفاعية، والرفض دون اعتبارات منطقية، والتمسك بوجهة النظر الشخصية، والتحيز، والتعاطف الانفعالي-من خلال درجة أحادية العقلية، وأن أي زيادة أو تغيير في أحادية العقلية يقابله زيادة أو تغيير في التعصب ككل أو في أبعاده المختلفة.

The present study aimed at assessing the relationship between the characteristics of intolerance and the mono-mental personality, identifying the differences between males and females in the characteristics of the intolerance and mono-mentalitys, and the mono-mental contribution to predict intolerance. The study sample consisted of 146 university youth (74 males and 70 females) who were selected randomly from the two classes at the Faculty of Education, Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. The study tools consisted of a mono-mental scale, and scale of characteristics of intolerance, they were applied in group sessions after verifying their psychometric validity. The results of the study revealed a statistically significant positive direct correlation between characteristics of intolerance and mono-mentality. There is also a significant positive direct correlation between the mono-mental and dimensions of the characteristics of intolerance: impulsiveness, rejection without logical considerations, bias, emotional sympathy and personalization in the study sample of the males and females. In addition, there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the high and low scores on the mono-mental-2 scale in the characteristics of intolerance. These differences were in favor of the high-scores group on mono-mental 2. In addition, there were no statistically significant differences between males and females in the total degree of mono-mentality and characteristics of intolerance, and dimensions (impulsiveness, rejection without logical considerations, bias) in the characteristics of intolerance. There are also significant differences between males and females in the dimension of intolerance (adhering to the personal view and emotional sympathy) in favor of the female group. As well as the possibility of predicting the degree of intolerance or its impulsive dimensions, and rejection without rational considerations, and adhere to the personal view, bias, and emotional sympathy - through the degree of mono-mentality, and any increase or change in mono mentality is offset by an increase or change in intolerance as a whole or in its various dimensions.
