The researcher chooses the subject of economic sources in Basra governorate and its effect on Iraq power, where oil is considered as a sample, as a geopolitics study since Basra has a great oil potentials having an influence on supporting Iraq economy.

|a يعد النفط من أهم الموارد الاقتصادية والاستراتيجية في دول العالم بشكل عام والعراق بشكل خاص، باعتباره المصدر الرئيس للطاقة ووسيلة مهمة لتحقيق النمو الاقتصادي، يمتلك العراق ثالث احتياطي نفطي في العالم، يمكن أن يعول عليه لتنفيذ برامج التنمية الاقتصادية، وقد اختار الباحث موضوع (الموارد الاقتصادية في محافظة البصرة وأثرها في قوة العراق "النفط نموذجا) كدراسة جغرافية سياسية باعتبار أن محافظة البصرة تمتلك ثورة نفطية كبيرة لها أهمية في دعم الاقتصاد العراقي.
