The research (Meaning of the formula (to overdo) in Tarfa ibn al-Abd (collection of poems) diwan, is around applying the meaning of (to overdo) formula as it is on the scientists of morphology and as it came in Tarfa’s (collection of poems) Diwan on the basis of counting and defining what came in Diwan of these meanings that the scientists of morphology mentioned such as multiplication, exaggeration, the rendering transitive and the consent of the meaning (to do), means (made him to do something, Afa’al, tafa’al). It also means, attribution, (the attribution of something to another). It also means the change of the adjective of something to another. It also means naming, that’ means, attribution, time and hopefulness. It also means, to become, (became something like…). It also means,” elimination” means to eliminate. The research has added some new meanings to the formula of (to overdo) which came in the form of advice, warning, the existing of something on a specific phase, participation and interaction. All these meanings based on the context of the meaning of (to overdo).
