The paper investigated the topic of ‘Communal School and its Role in the Development of the Local Community’; this topic acquires its importance in an era in which many are concerned about the role of school as a communal site for professional learning that contributes to the formation of the culture of learning and consequently the development of the local community. The main problem of the paper, therefore, is the ambiguity of the concept of communal school, and more importantly, the weaker relation between the communal school and its local society the result of which has negatively affected its educational performance. The significance of this paper resides in shedding a light on this type of school and how to foster and activate the partnership between school and community through the development of the culture of communal school. Moreover, the paper also explained the concept and objectives of the communal school along with the activation of its relationship with the local society to promote and develop the school performance and to boost the proficiency, productivity and efficiency of the school and its quality. To achieve these ends, a descriptive, analytical method was adopted for the data collection and analysis. Findings revealed the greater professional role of the communal school in developing the local community through its communal activities offered in school, mainly: the exploitation of school for religious, national and social events that establish connections with the local community. The paper eventually recommended the importance of activating the roles played by the communal school for community service and sharing of ideas and thoughts between the school’s stakeholders and those of the community to achieve a quality output for this school.
تناولت هذه الدراسة موضوع (المدرسة المجتمعية ودورها في تنمية المجتمع المحلي)، وهو من الموضوعات المهمة في عصر كثر الحديث فيه عن دور المدرسة كمجتمع تعلم مهني يسهم في تكوين ثقافة مجتمعات التعلم ومن ثم تنمية المجتمع المحلي ويتمثل مشكلة الدراسة الرئيس في غموض مفهوم المدرسة المجتمعية، مع ضعف العلاقة بينها والمجتمع المحلي مما انعكس سلبا في أدائها التعليمي، ولهذه الدراسة أهمية خاصة تتمثل في أنه يسلط الضوء على المدرسة المجتمعية وكيف يتم تعزيز وتفعيل التعاون والشراكة بينها والمجتمع المحلي، من خلال تنمية ثقافة المدرسة المجتمعية، كما تهدف الدراسة إلى توضيح مفهوم وأهداف المدرسة المجتمعية مع تفعيل العلاقة بينها والمجتمع المحلي من أجل تطوير وتنمية الأداء المدرسي وتعزيز فاعلية وإنتاجية وكفاءة المدرسة وتعظيم جودتها، إلى ذلك اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، الذي يقوم بدراسة ظاهرة ما وتحليلها للوصول إلى نتائج وتوصيات، من أهم نتائج الدراسة: للمدرسة المجتمعية دور مهني كبير في تنمية المجتمع المحلي من خلال النشاطات المجتمعية التي تقدمها المدرسة والمتمثلة: في استغلال المدرسة للمناسبات الدينية والوطنية والاجتماعية لبناء التواصل مع المجتمع المحلي، ومن أهم توصياتها، ضرورة قيام المدرسة المجتمعية بدورها الفاعل في خدمة وتنمية المجتمعات، وأن تبادل المجتمع المحلي والشركاء الآراء والأفكار التي تقود لجودة مخرجاتها.
