المستخلص: تلقي هذه الدراسة ضوءاً كاشفاً على توظيف الحيوان المفترس في الأدب العربي الحديث لغايات جمالية ونفسية واجتماعية متخذة كتاب (وحي لقلم) للرافعي ميداناً لهذا التطبيق، وطبيعة الدراسة أوجبت علينا بناءها على تمهيد وثلاثة مباحث، فالتمهيد بني على محورين، أحدهما يتتبع إسهامات الأدب العربي القديم في توظيف الحيوان في إيجاز واف، والآخر يقف عند الرافعي الأديب في مواهبه وقدراته وأسلوبه في منظور الأدباء والنقاد، والمبحث الأول يرصد الأسد وحمولاته التصويرية في (وحي القلم)، ويعقبه المبحث الثاني الذي يبسط القول في الثعلب وأبعاده الأدبية في الكتاب، ثم يأتي المبحث الثالث ليكشف عن وعي الرافعي في توظيف الذئب بوصفه دالاً جمالياً يحمل وفراً من الإشارات التراثية ويعكس دلالاته الاجتماعية بوضوح.

This study gives an explicit glance to the employment of the ravenous animal (predator) in the contemporary Arabic literature for the aesthetic, psychological, and social purposes taking the book (Wahi Al Qalam/ The Pen Inspiration) for Arrafi´i as a sample for the experiment of this study. The nature of the study enforced us to divide this study into an introduction and three sections. The introduction is based on two subsections the first of which follows the contribution of the old Arabic literature in terms of the employment of the animal in detail whereas the second subsection highlights the literary aspects of Arrafi´i and displays his talents, abilities, and behaviors from the viewpoint of the writers and critics. Section one depicts the lion and its photographic connotations in (Wahi Al Qalam/ The Pen Inspiration) while section two covers the fox and its literary dimensions in the book. Then the third section reveals the realization (awareness) of Arafi´i in employing the wolf which is described to be an aesthetic indicator having a plenty of traditional signals and reflects its social markers plainly
