المستخلص: The present report investigates the internal, international and Arab reactions to the results of the US Mid-term Elections for the Senate and Congress, which took place on Tuesday 6 November 2018. The race is held every 2 years after half the presidency term has passed. The Americans choose 35 of the 100 Senators and all the 435 Congress members. For the Senate, the Republicans kept the majority by 53 seats, while the Democrats won 47 seats. For the Congress, on the other hand, the Democrats occupied 235 seats and the Republicans 199 seats. The Mid-term election is considered a public referendum of the President’s 2-year performance, which is often not taken by his own party. However, losing the Congress was not expected due to excellent economic indicators achieved by Trump in the last two years, which indicates that the defeat is attributed to other reasons. The above outcomes are significant as they grant the Democrats the ability to enforce control over the President, a role the Republicans chose not to play in the last two years and left Trump in a status of near authorization. The shift would affect the White House’s different policies and restrict the President’s action in the other half of the term until 2021. As a result, he will have to move closer to the Democrats and make further concessions. Due to the President’s nature and controversial performance, the race received a great deal of international attention at different levels. The new and unpredicted changes in the US policy have led to the rise of tension with several world countries.
