استهدفت الدراسة الكشف عن دور كليات التربية بالجامعات السعودية في خدمة المجتمع المحلي. كما هدفت إلى بلورة تصور مقترح لتفعيل دور كليات التربية بالجامعات السعودية في خدمة المجتمع. وقد اعتمدت هذه الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وذلك من خلال استبانة تم تطبيقها – في الفصل الدراسي الأول من العام الدراسي 38/ 1439ه-على عينة مكونة من (106) عضو هيئة تدريس من الجامعات السعودية التالية: (أم القرى، الملك سعود، الملك فيصل، الملك خالد، المجمعة، الجوف) أي بنسبة 9.03% من المجتمع الأصلي. وكان من أهم النتائج التي توصلت لها الدراسة، أن دور كليات التربية بالجامعات السعودية في خدمة المجتمع جاء مرتفعاً حيث حصل البعد المعرفي على متوسط حسابي بلغ "3.71" وانحراف المعياري "0.55"، وحصل البعد الاجتماعي على متوسط حسابي بلغ "3.49" وانحراف المعياري "0.60"، وحصل البعد التوعوي التثقيفي على متوسط حسابي بلغ "3.19" وانحراف معياري "0.52". وقد قدمت الدراسة تصور مقترح يفيد في تفعيل وتطوير دور كليات التربية بالجامعات السعودية في خدمة المجتمع المحلي، ومنها: تحفيز أعضاء هيئة التدريس بكليات التربية للقيام بأبحاث ميدانية للتعرف على المشكلات التي تواجه المجتمع والبحث عن الحلول مناسبة لها، تحفيز أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلبة بكليات التربية للمشاركة في البرامج المخطط لها لخدمة المجتمع من خلال نقاط التقييم الدورية والسنوية، تطوير برامج ومناهج كليات التربية وفقاً للمتغيرات والاتجاهات والخبرات المجتمعية العالمية المعاصرة، تنمية مفهوم خدمة المجتمع لدى طلبة كليات التربية من خلال تضمين الخطط الدراسية لمساقات تعزز من ذلك المفهوم، تفعيل دور الأنشطة الطلابية بكليات التربية لتنمية مفهوم خدمة المجتمع من خلال تدريب الطلاب على مهارات العمل التطوعي إذ تطمح القيادة في المملكة العربية السعودية إلى تطوير هذا المجال ورفع نسبة عدد المتطوعين من 11 ألفاً فقط إلى مليون متطوع في خدمة المجتمع قبل نهاية عام 2030.
This study aimed to investigate the role of faculties of education in Saudi universities in serving local community. It also aimed to form a proposal to activate the role of faculties of education in Saudi universities in serving community. The study was based on a descriptive survey method, through a questionnaire that was distributed in the first semester of the academic year 38/1439 AH on a sample consisted of (106) teaching faculty members from the following Saudi universities: (Umm A1 Qura King Saud, King Faisal, King Khaled, Al Majmaa, A1 Jouf) which form 9.03%. of the original population. The most important results of the study were that the role of faculties of education in Saudi universities in serving community came high, were field of knowledge dimension achieved arithmetic means of 3.71 and standard deviation 0.55. The results also showed that the arithmetic means were 3.49 within the field of social dimension and standard deviation "0.60". Also, the results indicated that the arithmetic means were 3.19 within the field of awareness and educational dimension and standard deviation was "0.52". The study presented a procedural proposal that would benefit in activating and developing the role of faculties of education in Saudi universities in serving the local community. Including: Motivating faculty members in the faculties of education to carry out field research to identify the problems facing the community and the search for suitable solutions, encouraging faculty members and students in the faculties of education to participate in programs designed to serve the community through periodic and annual evaluation points, developing curricula of the faculties of education in accordance with the changes, trends and experiences of contemporary global society, developing the concept of community service among students of faculties of education by including study plans for courses that reinforce this concept, activate the role of student activities in the faculties of education to develop the concept of community service by training students on the skills of volunteer work where the leadership in Saudi Arabia aspires to develop this field and raise the number of volunteers from 11,000 to 1 million in community service before the end of 2030.
