يهتم البحث بأنماط إساءة معاملة المسنين، وأهمية اتخاذ التدابير التي تعزز ليس فقط ظروف رفاه المسنين، ولكن التأثير أيضا في المراحل المبكرة في الحياة وتأثير الشيخوخة على تجارب الناس طوال حياتهم. وأهمية إثارة الوعي المجتمعي بخطورة هذه المرحلة من حياة الإنسان لتعليم الأبناء القيم والعادات والتقاليد السليمة التي اندثر كثيرا منها وبتضافر الجهود بين البيت والمدرسة وأجهزة الدولة والمؤسسات التربوية والاجتماعية والثقافية من أجل رعاية تربوية سليمة لفئة المسنين وإنصافهم، وبذلك تعد هذه الدراسة خطوة في طريق التأصيل العلمي للمعرفة التربوية والاجتماعية في هذا الموضوع. وتم أخذ عينة عشوائية من المسنين (دار المسنين الصليخ) الحكومية ومن (دار المسنين الرحمة) الأهلية، وتوصل البحث إلى عدة نتائج مهمة تكشف عن أنماط الإساءة التي تمارس ضد كبار السن من قبل الأهل والذي كان السبب في تواجدهم في دار المسنين وترك أبنائهم والوصول إلى جملة من التداخلات للمساهمة في الحد من إساءة معاملة المسنين.
(Elderly between abuse and charity, Field study in the city of Baghdad) Maesm yasen obaid the Research is interested in patterns abuse of elderly, and the importance of taking measures that enhance the well-being of not only the conditions of the elderly, but also the effect in the early stages of life and the impact of aging on people's experiences throughout their lives. And the importance of raising community awareness of the seriousness of this phase of human life for the children's education, customs and traditions of sound values that disappeared many of them and concerted effort between home and school and state agencies and educational, social and cultural institutions in order for a class elderly and redress for sound pedagogical care, and thus a step in the way of scientific rooting this study is educational and social knowledge in the subject. And it has been taking a random sample of the elderly (the nursing home Suleikh government) and of the nursing home (Mercy) civil and research found several significant results reveal patterns of violence against the elderly by family and that was the reason for their presence in the home for the elderly and leaving their children and access to a set of interventions to help put an end to the phenomenon of violence against delayed ages of human life.
