المستخلص: This research aims at addressing the common defense mechanism of the gulf cooperation council countries, which was approved to establish the peninsula shield forces as one of the most common defense mechanisms to confront the external threats of the gulf cooperation council countries, and this is important in light of the current economic and military challenges. The research deals with three topics, one of the which deals with the definition of the gulf cooperation council and its .importance, The second topic presents the peninsula shield forces as one of the most prominent mechanisms of joint defense, the third topic tackles the current challenges facing the gulf cooperation council countries. The study concludes that the gulf cooperation council is entitled to defend to defend itself against any threat to any gulf cooperation council country through the mechanisms stipulated in the charter of the council, the illegitimacy of Iran’s interference in internal affairs of the gulf cooperation council countries, and its threats to the gulf cooperation council countries, through its official statements issued by the Iranian official and support of the Houthi group in Yemen, which ended with the establishment of the international coalition led by Saudi Arabia to put an end to the Iranian Influence, which poses a grave danger to the members of the gulf cooperation council.
