المستخلص: The novel is located in a series of oppositions: opposition between the butter and the Other, opposition between the suburbs and the city, opposition between the native country and the original country, opposition between absent fathers, silenced and undergoing all, children present, rebellious and rebelling against everything, opposition between the will to integrate and to be one with the Other and the need to belong to its roots, opposition between the will to stay and the utopia of the mythical return. In this article, we will study the oppositions that designate Leila Sebbar's novels as elements inherent in the notions of identity and otherness. The tale beur leaves a writing of an embarrassing duality justifying the discomfort of a whole generation hardly identifiable.

Le roman beur se situe dans une série d’oppositions : opposition entre le beur et l’Autre, opposition entre la banlieue et la ville, opposition entre le pays natal et le pays originel, opposition entre des pères absents, réduits au silence et subissant tout, des enfants présents, rebelles et s’insurgeant contre tout, opposition entre la volonté de s’intégrer et de ne constituer qu’un avec l’Autre et le besoin d’appartenir à ses racines, opposition entre la volonté de rester et l’utopie du retour mythique. Dans cet article, nous étudierons les oppositions qui désignent les romans beurs de Leila Sebbar constituant des éléments inhérents à l’intérieur des notions de l’identité et de l’altérité. Le récit beur laisse paraitre une écriture d’une dualité gênante justifiant le malaise d’une génération entière difficilement identifiable.
