المستخلص: جاءت النظرية الإشارية على أنقاض ما قدمه دور سوسير في حصره للعلامة في الدال والمدلول، وإهماله لفكرة المرجع، وقامت من طرف الإنجليزيين أوجدن وريتشاردز من خلال كتابهما "The meaning of meaning". هذا التصور نجد له حضورا في تراثنا العربي، من حيث عد المرجع طرفا ثالثا في العلامة، فقد اشتغل التراثيون على اللغة أيما اشتغال ومنهم الأصوليون الذين أثروا الساحة بمؤلفاتهم القيمة وفي مختلف المعارف والعلوم، والذين أعطوا أهمية كبرى لعامل المرجع، أو المشار إليه، بالإضافة إلى الدال والمدلول في التعامل مع النصوص الشرعية باعتبارها أرقى النصوص.
