المستخلص: Al-Santa Center is one of the eight centers of the governorate of Gharbia, which is confined between Damietta and Rachid branches east and west and Kafr El-Sheikh and Dakahlia governorates in the north and Menoufia in the south. The center of Santa is located in the south-eastern part of the governorate. It is bordered in the north by the center of El-Mahalla El-Kubra, to the east by the center of Samannoud, to the south by the center of Birkat as Sab in the governorate of Menofia and to the west by the center of Tanta. The center occupies an area of 218.67 square kilometers, or 11.3%, and the area of the governorate, which is 1942.2 km2. It comes in the fourth place among the governorate centers in terms of area, as the total flat land reached 52,030 acres, while the cultivated ownership is estimated at 47068 acres. The population reached 4,19062, making it the fifth largest population in the province. (Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, Preliminary Results 2016, p. 43).
The establishment of the center dates back to 1826, where it contained 55 administrative districts until 1960. In 1961, it included 45 districts distributed among eight local units next to the center's capital city of Santa and 251 Farms. Image (1).
The area of the center takes the shape of the rectangle. Its longitudinal span is twice the average width, with an average of 21.2 km for its longitudinal span, compared to 10.2 km for its transverse stretch (Al-Ghalban, 1991:109).
The products of the poultry industry at the Al-Santa Center have been selected as a field of study for several reasons, including:
The importance of studying the poultry industry and its products in the center of Santa is because of the high number of poultry farms in there. There are 621 farms concentrated in there. Availability of data and ease of conducting the field study given the proximity of the study area to the researcher's residence, the importance of this activity that achieves an earning that can be developed. The distinction of the center in terms of the diversity of its poultry products, whether in terms of fattening or table eggs, and the availability of the basic components of this activity at the center of al-Santa.
The research dealt with the distribution, production, and marketing of poultry products and the factors affecting them in addition to the development of the study area between 1980 and 2017. This is to evaluate the experience and study the problems faced by the poultry industry, and propose the development of this activity by finding solutions to these problems in light of the factors contributing to this.

مركز السنطة أحد مراكز محافظة الغربية الثمانية التي تنحصر بين فرعى دمياط ورشيد شرقا وغربا ومحافظتي كفر الشيخ والدقهلية شمالا والمنوفية جنوبا، ويقع مركز السنطة بالجزء الجنوبي الشرقي من المحافظة، حيث يحده شمالا مركز المحلة الكبرى وشرقا مركز سمنود وجنوبا مركز بركة السبع بمحافظة المنوفية وغربا مركز طنطا، ويشغل مركز السنطة مساحة 218.67 كيلو مترا مربعا بنسبة 11.3% ومن مساحة المحافظة البالغة ١٩٤٢.٢ كم٢، لذا يأتي في الترتيب الرابع بين مراكز المحافظة من حيث المساحة، كما بلغ المسطح الكلى له ٥٢٠٣٠ فدانا، بينما يقدر الزمام المزروع بحوالي ٤٧٠٦٨ فدانا، كما بلغ عدد سكانه ٤١٩٠٦٢ نسمه، ليحتل بذلك الترتيب الخامس سكانا بين مراكز المحافظة. ويرجع إنشاء مركز السنطة إلى عام ١٨٢٦ حيث كان يحوي ٥٥ ناحية إدارية حتى عام ١٩٦٠، وفى عام ١٩٦١ ضم ٤٥ ناحية توزعت على ثمان وحدات محلية بجانب عاصمة المركز مدينة السنطة و٢٥١ عزبة شكل (١).
وتأخذ مساحة المركز في أبعادها شكل المستطيل فامتداده الطولي في متوسطة ضعف متوسط عرضه بمتوسط ٢١.٢ كم لامتداده الطولي مقابل ١٠.٢ كم لامتداده العرضي (الغلبان، ١٩٩١: 109)
وقد تم اختيار منتجات صناعة الدواجن بمركز السنطة مجالا للدراسة لأسباب عديدة منها:
أهمية دراسة صناعة الدواجن ومنتجاتها في مركز السنطة لكثرة عنابر الدواجن بها، حيث يتركز به ٦٢١ عنبرا، توفر البيانات وسهولة إجراء الدراسة الميدانية لقرب منطقة الدراسة من سكن الباحث، أهمية هذا النشاط الذي يحقق عائدا يمكن تنميته، تميز مركز السنطة بتنوع منتجاته من الدواجن سواء التسمين أو بيض المائدة وتوافر المقومات الأساسية لهذا النشاط بمركز السنطة؛ وقد عالج البحث دراسة توزيع وإنتاج وتسويق منتجات الدواجن والعوامل المؤثرة فيها، والتطور الذي شاب منطقة الدراسة في الفترة بين عام ١٩٨٠ – ٢٠١٧، بهدف تقييم التجربة ودراسة المشكلات التي تواجهها صناعة الدواجن، واقتراح تنمية هذا النشاط بإيجاد حلول لتلك المشكلات في ضوء العوامل المساعدة علي ذلك.
