المستخلص: La variété dans les coutumes et les traditions est une marque caractéristique de la société algérienne, en particulier les usages qui relèvent du domaine du mariage, dont les pratiques différent d'une région à une autre, prenant forme dans une multiplicité de rites et de festivités, mais aussi dans la différence dans la valeur et la conception du «sadaq» (dot) et les circonstances qui l'entourent, ainsi que dans le statut de la femme dans la société. Parmi les thèmes les plus important que nous avons traité, il y a la question de la domination masculine et l'honneur dans la société, tout en évoquant des réalités qui peuvent être l'objet de débats et de longues études exhaustives pour connaître les raisons et les fondements de certaines moeurs et traditions dans la société algérienne, qui consacrent l'unité du peuple, contrairement a ce que veulent faire entendre certaines études, surtout lors qu’elles évoquent précisément la relation entre les arabe et les berbères, ou essayent d'implanter des habitudes nouvelles et importées, qui visent le dépouillement des valeurs spirituelles.

The variety of customs and traditions is the main feature of the Algerian society, in particular uses that are related to marriage practices that differ from one region to another, taking form in a variety of rituals and festivities, as well as different values connected to the conception of the dost of marriage (Sadaq) and the circumstances surrounding it, as well as the status of women in society. Among the most important issues that we intend to discuss, we have the one of the male domination and honor in society, while evoking some realities that could be a subject of long debates and of an exhaustive studies in order to determine the reasons and the basis of certain customs and traditions in the Algerian society which consecrate the unity of the people, unlike what some studies let to understand, specifically those mentioning the relationship between Arab and Berber, or those that are attempting to establish new and imported habits that are threatening the spiritual values.
