|b The study deals with the cultural relations between the different parts in the Islamic world, and the routes of pilgrimage as being the most important streams of these relations. It also aims at illustrating the role of Barbar as an inner harbor and a station amongst the most important ones in the route of pilgrimage in Eastern Sudan. Besides, the research examines the history of the Kunta dynasty in the region of Azawad in West Africa, and their relations with Eastern Sudan in general, and the region of Barbar, in particular. The importance of this documentary study lies in illustrating the interactive relations, the cultural and scientific contacts between the countries and cities in the Islamic world
