تعتبر مؤسسات ومراكز الأرشيف من بين أبرز المؤسسات الخدماتية، التي تعني بتقديم خدمات ذات طابع معلوماتي للمستفيدين فهي تطمح للوصول إلى مستوى خدماتي ذا جودة عالية، ومن بين هذه المؤسسات مؤسسات الأرشيفات الوطنية نظرا لكونها تمثل مرآة الأمم وتحفظ تاريخها للأجيال القادمة. كما تسعى إلى إتاحة المعلومات والوثائق التاريخية للباحثين لكتابة التاريخ من خلال مجموعة خدمات استطاعت أن ترقي بها إلى أرقى الخدمات وذلك بتبنيها لوسائل وتقنيات تكنولوجية جديدة مكنتها من الاتصال بالعالم المحيط بها ومن هذه الوسائل شبكة الانترنت التي عرفت تطورات سريعة، وقدمت العدد من المزايا والخدمات فأصبحت الخدمة تقدم في غضون ثوان بفضل أجيال الويب المختلفة وبالخصوص الجيل الثاني من الويب أو ما يطلق عليه ب الويب 2.0 والذي ساعد مؤسسات الأرشيف الوطنية في إنشاء مواقعها المبنية عليه، واستخدام تطبيقاته المتعددة لتسهيل تقديم خدماتها كمواقع التواصل الاجتماعي مثل الفيسبوك والتويتر واليوتيوب وديغ وخدمة RSS وغيرها من المواقع من أجل التفاعل مع المستفيدين وباقي المؤسسات الأخرى في مختلف أرجاء العالم، وبفضل هذا التطور الذي هو موضوع الساعة جاء موضوع دراستنا هذه للتعرف على أهم تطبيقات الويب 2.0 ودورها في إتاحة خدمات مراكز أو مؤسسات الأرشيف الوطنية، وضبط مفاهيم كل التطبيقات وأهميتها في تقديم الخدمات الأرشيفية.
