المستخلص: تحاول هذه الدراسة الكشف عن صراع التوحيدي مع الآخر في كتاباته النثرية، من خلال دراسة الأنساق الثقافية، وما تخفيه من معان مضمرة ومهيمنة على تشكل النص. والمتأمل في هذه الأنساق يجد أنها تحكمت في بنية التوحيدي الفكرية والاجتماعية ابتداء: بأصل نشأته وفقره وأسرته وثقافاته الواسعة، وتبحره في العلوم المختلفة، وإحساسه بأحقية أن تكون له مكانة ما في هذا المجتمع. كل ذلك أثر في أسلوب كتابته. غير أن عجزه عن تحقيق ذلك؛ دفعه إلى ذم السلطة، والكشف عن مساوئها، ومساوئ المجتمع. معلنا الصراع مع هذا الزمن وأناسه، وعندما بلغت ذاته اليأس، وشعر بعبثية العلم، أحرق كتبه واتجه إلى الشكوى والغربة ومناجاة خالقه ففيه الأمل، بعد أن يئس من المخلوقين. وقد قمت بتقسيم البحث إلى مقدمة وتمهيد ومبحثين: تناولت في التمهيد الحضور القلق الذي يتناول حياة التوحيدي القلقة، ودورها في توجيه إبداعه، وتطرقت في المبحث الأول إلى نسق الصراع مع الآخر ومع المجتمع بكل أطيافه من سلطة وعليه القوم وعامة الناس، وتحدثت في المبحث الثاني عن اغتراب عن ذاته في هذا العالم المليء بالمتناقضات.

This study attempts to show the struggle of al-Tawhidi with the other in his prose writings by studying the cultural patterns and the underlying meanings they hide in the form of the text.
The contemplator of these patterns finds that they have controlled the intellectual and social structure of al-Tawhidi. It starts with his upbringing, poverty, family and wide cultures, and great knowledge of different sciences, and his sense of entitlement of a place in this society. This all affected his style of writing. His inability to achieve that position led him to condemn the authorities, and show their disadvantages and those of the society.
He declared the struggle with the time (in which he lived) and its people. When he reached the level of despair, he felt the absurdity of the science, and burned his books and went to complain, alienation and praying towards his creator, as there is hope, after being despaired from His creatures.
I divided the research into an introduction, a preface, and two chapters. The preface addressed the anxiety in the unsettling life of al-Tawhidi and its role in guiding his creativity. The first chapter touched on the pattern of conflict with the other and with society in all its spectrum such as authority and the officials and the general people. The second chapter discussed his alienation from himself in this world of contradictions.
