Joseph Campbell’s example of (Hero’s Journey) in legendary researches is significant and effective. This example consists of several stages that express the general plan of each legendary hero’s journey; it is the kind that the hero and even various characters can be compared to it as well. According to this example, the chosen hero separates from ordinary and daily world; by undergoing difficult situations and examples, he proves his worth. As a result, he gains a possession that only deserves a hero like him. This kind of example also can be seen in Ahmadi Xani’s story of (Mem u Zin) in the section of Mem’s journey and reaching the final stage of maturity in love aspects. The story of Mem’s life is the expression of various stages of his (Hero’s Journey) that he went through. While falling in love head over heels with Zin, Mem steps out towards a very problematic journey, going through mystical situation and psychological measurement of journey; he reaches self-knowledge and mental maturity. The aim of this research is to show maturity plan of Mem’s characteristics according to the example of Hero’s Journey by Joseph Campbell, using this example not only expresses fate change of Mem’s personality, his personal psychology and protagonist in a better way, but also shows audience a more subtle and scientific portrait of Ahmadi Xani’s art of story writing. |
