The research paper ventures to respond to the misunderstanding concerning the hadiths "Every newly begun matter is an innovation, every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in hell" and "Whoever imitates a people is one of them" The paper discusses the following: • Innovations and Islamic law. • The permissibility of celebrating newly developed matters and compliance with the Quranic verse "... and remind them of the days of God. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful". • Celebrating the day of the Prophet's birth and when it is considered a good, disliked, or reprehensible innovation. • Congratulating non-Muslims on their feast days. • Responding to the claim that congratulating non-Muslims on their feast days is prohibited in Islam.
