|a شغل الليل منزلته المنتظرة في القصائد العربية؛ وهو ما يؤكد على كونه من الموضوعات الشعرية الملهبة والملهمة لمخيلة المبدع العربي، وقد تناوله شعراء العرب القدامى منهم والمحدثون، وظهر الليل أكثر ما ظهر في شعر الرومانسيين، ولم لا؟ وهو ملتقى المحبين إذا التقوا، ومتلذذ ذكراهم إذا افترقوا، وقد انسابت ظواهر الطبيعة انسيابا متغلغا، لا ينفك عن الأدب الرومانسي، ومن أبرز سمات الرومانسية إسقاط معاناتهم، وخلع مشاعرهم على الطبيعية؛ فيصبحان هم وهي كيانا واحدا، فأنت تراه بعين الشاعر الرومانسي، على غير ما تراها عند غيره؛ إذ كادوا أن يتفقوا في نظرتهم لليل، على أنه هو الملهم والصاحب ومثير الإبداع والخلق الأدب؛ فجاءت قصائده مطعمة بذكر الليل وآثاره عليهم، فجاء هذا البحث لتناول أسرار الليل البلاغية، والأدبية التي جالت في أشعارهم.
