Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's threat to annex the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea to Israel -if he wins the September 17 Knesset elections- represents a big shock to international community in favor of peace in the Middle East. However, the annexation of the Palestinian and Arab territories in general and the Jordan valley in particular, has its political and ideological backgrounds in Israel that we address in this analysis. The analysis confirms that the demand for the annexation of the Jordan valley to Israel has been an element of the ideology adopted by the Jewish political parties in Israel in dealing with the issue of Palestinian land, demography and security for decades. The analysis also points out that the results of the Israeli elections in September 2019 confirm that the various options and scenarios put forward to form the new Israeli government will strengthen the national/ religious right-wing as well as extremist trends in Israel. Therefore, the occupation state will continue to confiscate land and support the idea of Jewish settlement in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The objective analysis confirms that the annexation of the Palestinian territories in the Jordan Valley and other areas, and the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Jerusalem, will not end the current conflict, and on the contrary it will ignite it, and negatively influence any tendencies toward any political settlement between the parties in the future. The perception of these facts by regional and international parties explains why the peace process has been stalled since years. Therefore, the Palestinians' choices are limited to resisting the occupation, popularly, politically and by other means wherever possible, which is justified in accordance with international law, experience of political process with Israel and Israeli declared aggressive policies. This imposes on the international community and the Arab and Islamic countries 1) to take new policies to confront extremism and intransigence in Israel, 2) to be just with the Palestinian people by lifting their grievances, ending the occupation of their land and the returning of refugees, 3) to pressure the US to limit Israel's arrogance, instead of entering the race with it in violation of international law and deepening injustice and aggression against the Palestinian people and their rights.
