The paper then examined the implications of social cohesion due to internal migration in sub-Saharan Africa. The results have shown that the transition from rural to urban or so-called internal migration has an impact on both communities. There are problems that arose in the civilized society due to the movement of the rural people to urban areas, namely the social, cultural, security and economic aspects. The expansion of cities is often at the expense of the countryside, and some villages may merge into cities or disappear from existence for natural environmental reasons or the movement of their people. Africa continent is one of the most densely populated continents. Sub-Saharan Africa, which accounts for the bulk of this rapid growth, lacks development plans, rehabilitation and economic programs to improve and control the situation. Despite the efforts of governments, the African Union (AU) institutions and the United Nations (UN), the reality has not changed much. Furthermore, the study found that urbanization has many characteristics in which the cities of the world share. However, the cities in sub-Saharan Africa has four common characteristics which are; unregulated overcrowding, lack of contact with each other (disconnection), the high cost of living for individuals, families and businesses alike, as well as its isolation from the world. Ultimately, the study provided some suggestions for the governments, academicians, and business practitioners
