المستخلص: The Zionist Ideology and the West” is a very important journey that shows the successive generations from Orientalism to Zionism and to Islamophobia. تسعى هذه الورقة للإجابة عن سؤال يتعلق بماهية العلاقة بين الاستشراق وكل من الصهيونية والإسلاموفوبيا كفعل إيديولوجي. تنطلق فكرة البحث من فرضيتين أساسيتين: تفيد الأولى، أن الاستشراق مهد للصهيونية من خلال محاولة إثبات الحق التاريخي لليهود في فلسطين، وأما الثانية فتفيد بأن ظاهرة الإسلاموفوبيا هي عبارة عن امتداد لظاهرة الاستشراق. ملخص هذه الورقة يبين أن أعمال بعض المستشرقين مهدت الطريق أمام الحملات الاستعمارية الأوروبية بل عمل بعضهم بشكل مباشر في خدمة الاستعمار البريطاني وحلفائه، وكانت النتيجة أن الاستشراق ومن خلال "المعرفة" راح يوفر كل الشروط اللازمة لترجمة القوة وفرض السيطرة الاستعمارية على فلسطين.
