520		\|b Until recently the most common electric light source was the incandescent lamp. This is still widely used, although its relatively low energy efficiency is leading to its replacement by other more efficient lamps such as the CFL and LED. This paper discusses the types of lighting sources available for light fixtures designers in Egypt. The paper also attempts to relate available light sources with types of lighting fixtures and types of uses in all areas of lighting design. Information on how to select a proper light source for the designed space and for types of different users has also been provided in an easily usable format."
