المستخلص: نشأت الأفكار الحداثية في المجتمعات الغربية بعد الحرب العالمية الأولى بأهداف تنموية، وواجهت مشكلة الضرورة الملحة التي تقتضي سرعة إصلاح الدمار الذي خلفه الحرب؛ وقد نجحت تلك الأفكار إلى حد كبير في معالجة هذه المشكلة؛ وتكمن أهمية اتجاهات الحركة الحديثة فيما أجرته من تغييرات على الوسط الإبداعي، وخلق مناخ تصميمي حديث تقوم أسسه الاستلهامية على التجريد ومراعاة التكنولوجيا الحديثة. وتعتبر الحركة الحداثية من أهم الاتجاهات التصميمية التي ظهرت خلال القرن العشرين؛ ومازالت أعمالها التطبيقية لها تأثيرا وقبولا عالميا وهنا تكمن أهمية البحث؛ وتعد المشكلة البحثية الرئيسية هي افتقاد الرؤية المنطقية في تحليل قيمة الحركة الحداثية وأثرها على الاتجاهات التصميمية التالية لها والتي أصبحت معاصرة في عصرنا الحالي؛ ويهدف البحث إلى تأكيد قيمة الحركة الحداثية؛ وإحياء مبدأ التواصل الفكري بين الاتجاهات التصميمية العالمية في مجال تصميم الأثاث. ومن أهم نتائج البحث أولا: -غيرت حركة الحداثة ونظرياتها الفكر التصميمي نحو معالجة المشاكل الإنسانية بمنهج علمي ووظيفي، يخضع لمعايير تقييمية تسعى لتحقيق التوازن بين البعد النفعي والجمالي، ونتج عن ذلك حدوث تواصل فكري عالمي بين اتجاهات التصميم المعاصرة والتالية للحركة الحداثية؛ ويؤكد ذلك أعمال مصممي الحركة ومن أهمهم مارسل بروير "Marcel Breuer" وميس فان درووهMies Van Der ) (Rohe ولوكوربوزييه " Le Corbusier. ثانيا: -أصبح الاتجاه التجريدي والبساطة المفرطة التي حققتها الحركة الحديثة قابلة لإضافة قيم تشكيلية جديدة: وتأتي جميع الاتجاهات التصميمية التي تلت فترة الحداثة لتضيف على المتغيرات الفكرية التي أثارتها تلك الفترة؛ ولا تنافيها تماما مهما كانت ناقدة لها؛ ويظهر ذلك فيما تناوله البحث من أعمال بعض المصممين المعاصرين. ويمكن أن نستخلص أثر التحول الفكري في تصميم الأثاث عبر الحركة الحداثية على التصميم المعاصر في اتجاهين رئيسين أولهما: إرساء مبدأ معالجة المشاكل الإنسانية بمنهج علمي ووظيفي؛ يخضع لمعايير تقييمية؛ وثانيهما: تهيئة مناخ إبداعي ذو رؤية تشكيلية مجردة تقبل الإضافة والتطوير الوظيفي والجمالي.

Modernist ideas arose in Western societies after World War I with developmental goals. These societies faced the problem of urgency that required repairing the devastation caused by the war with speed and these ideas have largely succeeded in addressing this problem. The importance of modern movement trends lies in its changes to the creative environment, creating a modern design climate based on abstraction, and taking into account modern technology. The modernist movement is one of the most important design trends that emerged during the twentieth century; its applied work continues to have a global impact and acceptance, and this is where lies the importance of research. The main research problem is the lack of logical vision in the analysis of the value of the modernist movement and its impact on the design trends that have become contemporary in our time. The research aims to confirm the value of the modernist movement; revive the principle of intellectual communication between global design trends in furniture design. The most important results of the research include, first, that the movement of modernity and its theories changed design thinking towards addressing human problems with a scientific and functional approach, subject to evaluative criteria that seek to balance the utilitarian and aesthetic dimensions. This resulted in a global intellectual connection between contemporary design trends following the modernist movement. This is confirmed by the work done by the movement's designers, the most important of which are Marcel Breuer, Mies Van DerRohe, and Le Corbusier. Second: The abstract trend and the excessive simplicity achieved by the modern movement have become amenable to adding new formative values. All the design trends that followed the modernity period add to the intellectual variables raised by that period; they do not completely contradict them, no matter how critical they may be. This is reflected in the work of some modern designers as dealt with by the research. We can draw the impact of the intellectual transformation of furniture design through the modernist movement on contemporary design in two main directions: establishing the principle of addressing humanitarian problems with a scientific and functional approach, subject to evaluative criteria. The second is to create a creative atmosphere with an abstract formative vision that accepts addition, career and aesthetic development.
