|b Religious tourism focuses on the restoration of religious values, the practice of rituals and (Religious ceremonies), as well as the acquisition of religious or ideological experience. Religious tourism in Egypt represents a religious and cultural heritage, a national wealth of the country and an economic source, through marketing locally and internationally, to increase the touristic income. Despite the religious and historical value of Assiut Governorate, the religious tourism industry is still weak. Therefore, we have to shed the light to define the problems and ostacles that hinder religious tourism coming in it because of its geographical importance such as location, Islamic sacraments and Christian holy places.

|a تركز السياحة الدينية على استرجاع القيم الدينية وممارسة الشعائر والطقوس بالإضافة إلى اكتساب خبرة ذات صبغة دينية أو عقائدية، وتمثل السياحة الدينية في مصر تراثا دينيا وحضاريا وثروة قومية للبلاد وموردا اقتصاديا عن طريق التسويق لها محليا وعالميا حتى يمكن زيادة الدخل السياحي. رغم القيمة الدينية والتاريخية التي تتحلى بها محافظة أسيوط، فما زالت صناعة السياحة الدينية بها ضعيفة، مما استوجب ضرورة إلقاء الضوء من أجل تحديد المشكلات أو المعوقات للسياحة الدينية الوافدة إليها نظرا لأهميتها الجغرافية، المتمثلة في موقعها وامتلاكها لمقدسات دينية إسلامية، وأماكن مقدسة مسيحية.
