|a تهدف هذه المقالة للتعرف على المدينة من خلال التطرق إلى نشأتها وتطورها وأهم سماتها، حيث أن المدينة ليست ظاهرة حديثة في تكوينها، ولا في نشأتها فهي ترجع إلى عهود سابقة، وقد ارتبطت بالاستيطان البشري في المناطق التي رأى فيها الإنسان مكانا خصبا للعيش وممارسة حياته اليومية بنوع من الراحة التي تخوله لأن يطمح لحياة أفضل له ولأطفاله.
