المستخلص: De nombreux environnementalistes critiquent la libéralisation du commerce. Selon ces derniers, le libre-échange est responsable de nombreux aspects de la dégradation de l'environnementet de l'incapacité des décideurs à leprotéger Cette critique ne peut laisser indifférents ceux qui se soucient de l'environnementet qui croienten un ordre commercial mondial libéral. Cet article tente de démontrer que, bien qu'il y ait, en effet, une relation entre le commerce et l’environnement, ce qui ne se limite plus au seul problème de la compatibilité entre libéralisation des échanges et protection de l’environnement, la thématique du développement soutenable a ouvert un nouveau champ de concurrence des politiques commerciales, en particulier sur le statut du libreéchange et du commerce administré, sûr et équitable.

ينتقد العديد من علماء البيئة فكرة تحرير التجارة وفي نظرهم أن التجارة الحرة هي المسؤولة عن جوانب كثيرة من التدهور البيئي وعدم قدرة صانعي السياسات حماية البيئة. صحيح أن هذا النقد لا يمكن أن يترك بلامبالاة بالنسبة للذين يهتمون بالبيئة، ويؤمنون بنظام التجارة العالمية الليبرالي.
يحاول هذا المقال أن يثبت أنه على الرغم من وجود في الواقع علاقة بين التجارة والبيئة ولم يعد يقتصر الأمر على مشكلة التوافق بين تحرير التجارة وحماية البيئة. حيث قد فتح موضوع التنمية المستدامة حقل جديد من السياسات التجارية التنافسية، ولا سيما فيما يتعلق بحالة التجارة الحرة والتجارة المدارة، آمنة ونزيهة.

Many ecologists criticize the idea of trade liberalization and consider that free trade is responsible for many aspects of environmental degradation and the inability of policymakers to protect the environment. True, such criticism can not be left indifferent to those who care about the environment and believe in the liberal world trade system.
This article tries to prove that although there is actually a relationship between trade and environment, it is no longer limited to the problem of compatibility between trade liberalization and environmental protection. The subject of sustainable development has opened up a new field of competitive trade policies, particularly with regard to the status of free trade and managed trade, safe and fair.
