المستخلص: The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of democratic culture among students’ union members in public Jordanian universities as perceived by students. Moreover, proposing an educational strategy to develop the democratic culture among students’ union members in public Jordanian universities. The sample of the study consisted of all Unions’ members in Jordan university, Yarmouk university and Muta’a university in the academic year 2015/2016 totaling (242) male and female students. To achieve the aim of the study the researcher administrated a questionnaire consisted of (75) items distributed into three domains: knowledge of democratic culture, values of democratic culture and practices of democratic culture. The findings showed that the means ranged between (2.71-3.78) with an average evaluation level as knowledge of democratic culture domain came first with a mean (3.78) and high evaluation level while, practices of democratic Lived Experiences of Political Engagement. The findings showed that there were no significant statistical differences at the level of (α =0.05) attributed to gender in all domains and the total score. There were significant statistical differences at the level of (α =0.05) attributed to college variable in all domains and the total score except for practices of democratic culture in favor of humanitarian colleges. There were significant statistical differences at the level of (α =0.05) attributed to study level variable between the fourth year and both second and third years in favor of the forth year in knowledge of democratic culture domain, and between fourth and second years in favor of the first in values of democratic culture and the total score. The researcher designed a proposed educational strategy to develop the democratic culture among students’ union members in public Jordanian universities. Based on the findings the researcher presented several recommendations.
