المستخلص: تهدف الدراسة إلى الموازنة بين قصيدتين في رثاء الخليفة المتوكل إحداهما لعلي بن الجهم والأخرى للبحتري. بداية من مطلعيهما وما تناول الشاعران من معاني الرثاء، وذكر من لهم دور في مقتل الخليفة، والذين كانوا غيبا وأثر غيابهم في الحدث. وقد تناول الشاعران الموضوع بزوايا مختلفة لأنهما كانا على طرفي نقيض. وخلصت الدراسة إلى جملة من النتائج لعله من أهمها: سلك كلا الشاعرين مسلكا مختلفا في مقدمة قصيدته، فقصيدة ابن الجهم سلك فيها مسلكا غريبا بوصف سحابة وهي على غرابتها مقدمة لمرثية إذا أول بالرمز. أما البحتري فقصيدته أقرب إلى الارتجال فأبياته الأولى كانت جزءا من قصيدته. وكذلك اتفاق الشاعرين تورية وتلميحا وتصريحا في بعض المواضع بأن ولي العهد المنتصر متآمر مع قتله أبيه، ثم إن الشاعرين ندب كل منهما الخليفة واستنكر الحادثة ودعا على الذين قتلوه بالويل والثبور وأن ينتقم منهم مع تشككهما في ذلك.

The study aims at comparing two elegies on Al-Motawakil the Khalifa. One was written by Albuhtory and the other was written by Ibn Algaham. Initiating with their beginning, elegy expressions presented by the two poets in their elegies, revealing the names of those who had hands on the murder of Khalifa and the names of those who were not presented when the Khalifa was murdered but their absence had influenced the murder. The two poets talked about the murder from different angles because they were different from each other. The study has come up with a number of findings, the most important are: Each of the two poets began his elegy in a different way. Albuhtory’s elegy was more to improvisation, his first verses were a part of his poem while Ibn Algaham had done it in a strange way, and he began his poem with describing a cloud. Though the poem seemed unfamiliar, yet it was an introduction to an elegy, so he began with symbol. The two poets agreed in the insinuation, imitation and declaration in some situations in the two elegies concerning that the guardian Al-muntasir was involved in with those who murdered his father. The two poets also laminated the Khalifa and condemned the murder and they called for destruction for those who killed the Khalifa and they should be revenged on, though, this one is doubt.
