The aim of this study was to identify the leadership styles of the educational leaders in the schools participating in the change initiatives from the point of view of the teachers, the most effective leadership style in the schools that implemented the change initiatives, and the new educational practices in their schools to improve the educational level of the students and develop the teaching skills. Accordingly, a survey of (60) questions, classified into four different leadership styles, was conducted on (149) teachers who introduced change initiatives in their schools. The questionnaire also focused on the reasons why teachers are encouraged to introduce change initiatives in their schools. The results show a direct relationship between the leadership style and the success of school change initiatives. Transformational leadership has been more appropriate and effective in developing teachers and implementing change initiatives in their schools, leading to the implementation of new and positive teaching practices in their schools. This was followed by the democratic style and then the chaotic leadership style, while the dictatorial style of leadership was the least effective. It was also noted that there was a direct correlation between the desire of female teachers to develop themselves and their application to change initiatives in their schools. Based on the results, it is suggested that the development of training programs for leaders on the importance of the role of the leader in the development and development in schools, as its role affects the level of performance and the development of teachers and raise the level of education and achievement in school. • Develop leadership development programs for educational leaders; to strengthen the transformational leadership style in particular; so that we can expand the circle of change in our schools. • Further studies to identify the relationship between years of experience and change in educational institutions.
