This research discusses the relationship between the subject -desirer - and the object of desire through Rene Girard researches on the triangle of desire, assuming that there is always a model/mediator represents and simulates the object of desire, and thus the desire takes the form of a triangle starting from the subject toward the object of desire through the model/mediator that has the desired object. Thus violence increases, decreases or diminishes according to the proximity of the subject to the model/mediator and the similarity or the distance between them. We have tried to extrapolate Gerard’s findings by reading two novelist models; the first model: symmetry/peace, represented by the novel, "Setr" Cover by Rajaa Alem. The second model: divergence/violence, represented by "Alakharoon" The Others by Seba Alharz. Those two novels are at opposite ends in dealing with the contemporary social reality. They express two contradicting concepts which exemplify identity dualism that our society experience. "Setr" has revealed that the symmetry, which often leads to violence, does not lead to violence if it’s encountered with concealment, locking out, and self-denial, thus covering in this novel plays a major role to reach a common ground in communicating with the other. On the contrary, in “Alakharoon”, difference represents a danger in a society that devotes the concept of symmetry and similarities. This devotion and obliteration of differences generate self-splitting and self-averting from itself, which leads to self-hatred to oneself and others, which inevitably leads to violence.
