This research explores the issue of interpretation and discourse production through the case study of the literary dialogue between Moroccan writer Tahar Benjelloun and scholar Marc Gontard. Findings reveal that the dialogue between Benjelloun and Gontard was not unidirectional but interactive, generating a parallel text to the original literary works in which both participants contributed to reinterpreting literary experiences from different perspectives. The research shows that interpretation in literary dialogue goes beyond immediate understanding of texts to become an interpretive process aimed at uncovering implicit meanings and reproducing them in a new discursive form. The study also highlights how this interaction engages readers as co-constructors of meaning, facing a composite text that blends literature, criticism, and cultural analysis. It concludes that literary dialogue serves as a fertile tool for rethinking the relationship between text, reader, writer, and critic, representing a unique discursive experience that demonstrates how meaning production is the outcome of a collective, participatory process rather than an isolated individual act.
