الحمد لله رب العالمين، أحمده حمد الشاكرين على جزيل فضله وسابغ نعمائه ونصلي ونسلم على أشرف خلق الله محمد بن عبد الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وعلى آله وصحبه ومن اهتدى بهديه إلى يوم الدين. وبعد: تأتي أهمية هذا الموضوع في أن دراسة الصرف ودلالة الأفعال، تعد ركنا أساسيا في العلوم اللغوية المختلفة. يتناول هذا البحث دلالات الفعل الثلاثي من حيث تجرده وأبنيته ودلالته ومعانيه، ثم تطبيق ما ورد من هذه الأبنية والدلالات والمعاني على قصيدة كعب بن زهير في مدحه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، تلك القصيدة المشهورة، العميقة في معانيها وأسلوبها وقافيتها وبنائها، والتي تغطي أغلبية الأبنية الصرفية، اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. حيث رصدت الأفعال الثلاثية المجردة حسب ورودها في الكتب والمباحث الصرفية، وتتبعنا هذه الصيغ والأفعال ونقبنا عنها في قصيدة كعب بن زهير التي سبق ذكرها، واستصحبنا في هذه الدراسة ثبتا من أهم المصادر والمراجع ذات الصلة، ثم ذيلنا البحث بالخاتمة والفهارس. توصلت الدراسة إلى نتائج عدة أهمها: 1/ إن تعدد صيغ الفعل الثلاثي سواء كانت فعلية أو اسمية مردها تعدد اللهجات العربية. 2/ إن بعض الأفعال يحددها السياق اللغوي وليس الصيغة أو البناء للفعل وعليه سيتعرف القارئ على طائفة من الأساليب الصرفية والدلالية خلال مدارسته لقصيدة كعب بن زهير وغيرها من النصوص 3/ إن بنية الكلمة تعد قضية مهمة جدا من قضايا ومباحث فصاحة اللغة العربية، وأوصت الدراسة بإجراء بحث في دلالة الأفعال الرباعية والخماسية في قصيدة كعب بن زهير.
