المستخلص: The central theme of this paper is to test to what extent strategic planning contributes to a better alignment between the corporate level and business units. In this context, strategic planning is no longer known to be a linear process; rather it is more like a movement in motion. In order to ensure the continuity of any company, it is imperative to have a strategic plan for each strategy and that strategic alignment must happen on a variety of levels within the organization. With globalization and in a world where climate is constantly changing, it becomes quite important to understand the main findings of the scholars and theorists on the different processes of strategy formulation, various school of thoughts of strategy, classifications of strategic thinking, strategic planning as well as strategic alignment models. This study is focused on the Management Staff in Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) and revolves around analysing their understanding of strategic planning as well as its effectiveness amid the changing market dynamics. The purpose of this paper is to present the results of the study that suggests re-designing the strategic planning of Alba B.S.C. through process management. The main results with the team’s conclusion point to a number of different suggestions and/or recommendations to improve the planning process, to re-design the strategic planning to better position the company in terms of addressing the challenges of aluminium industry.
