المستخلص: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the safety climate key dimensions “Organisation Safety Policy, Supervision and Safety Training” on the organisation safety performance. Extensive literature review, analysing the safety statistics of Alba and a survey was carried on a selected sample representing Alba employee's population in order to measure their perception of these key dimensions. The results were analysed to measure the impact of safety policy, supervision and training on the safety performance of the organisation. This thesis concludes that employees agreed that policy, supervisions and training influence the safety performance of the organisation. They also strongly agreed that supervision has the highest impact on the safety performance. This thesis was carried out in Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and all analysis and conclusions are driven based on the survey done on its employees. Hence, the results are applicable and exclusive to Aluminium Bahrain. In addition the safety climate consists of many dimensions and only three key dimensions related to Alba were examined i.e. safety policy, supervision and training. These were considered as the limitations of the study. This thesis provides executive recommendations to the areas where improvements arc required in order to achieve international benchmark i.e. frequent revision to Safety policy, addressing the role of the first line supervisors, reviewing the effectiveness of mock drills safety activity and divert safety-training programs from class oriented to on-job training. This thesis is considered to be unique as it explores in-depth the key dimensions of the leading indicators in one of the largest Aluminium primary producer in the world.
