|a تتناول هذه الورقة حركة أبو جميزة في دارفور ودورها في مناهضة المهدية وذلك لما كانت تمثلها من مواجهة فكرية للمهدية، وما تكشفها من دور معارضة الفور للمهدية والثورة عليها عسكريا، وما أزهقتها من الأرواح واستنزفتها من العتاد الحربي لجيش الخليفة عبد الله قبل توجهه نحو مصر. وقد توصلت الورقة إلى مجموعة من النتائج نذكر منها أن الحركة لعبت دورا مهما في تأخير نفاذ استراتيجية دولة المهدية لإكمال توسعاتها الخارجية، بجانب ما كشفتها من ضعف دولة المهدية، وما ساهمت به في إحياء العصبية القبلية من جديد.
