المستخلص: According to the African Union’s documents, African Agenda 2063 represents a road map guiding the African development schemes for the next 50 years after the adoption of Agenda (2013- 2016). More specifically, the Agenda treated the important issue of African Identity as a cornerstone of its structure and in the context of ideas such as African Renaissance, Pan- Africanism, and integration of African cultures. It was remarkable that the Agenda orientations was based on general and traditional concepts such as facing the globalization side effects, supporting good governance, respecting the culture of human rights, enabling peace for empowered development, and integration across the whole African continent. Meanwhile the agenda neglected a very important component of Africa’s cultural identity which is represented in the Arab Islamic identity and relied completely, or maybe exclusively, on the pan Africanism perceptions of the African cultural identity. The article tended to deconstruct the Agenda’s approach to these issues, and paid its much part to reconstruct a proposed vision of putting the Arab Islamic identity in the context of the wide African cultural identity as been set by the AU. In addition, the article provides a critic review to the Arab contributions in the African collective work. It also recommended several actions to be taken to reinforce the Arab role inside the African cultural policies and agendas.
