|b The university is regarded as one of the social institution that effect and is affected by it. It is a product of society on one hand and it is its tool in making its technical, function and intellectual open the other hand. What increases the importance is the fact that it deals with the section of youth who are the most important section in society as they are leaders of the future who represent the truth. Through this, the university manifests the educational principles and the social characteristic and the moral conceptions in the spirit of the students and the effect it has in building the human character. The spirit refer to that cognitive psychology that people show individual differences in the mechanisms of treating information through their attempts to solve problems and take decision. The cognitive methods is regarded as one of these factor like the quantities. The concept of method is used to describe many methods and the characteristics and behaviors. Undoubtedly, Iraq is going through a stage of modernization in all stages since change which passes through 2003 and the modernization here lurks in the intellectual openness which Iraqi live after a lethargy and the sanctions which took Iraq away from the external circumference. This isolation was accompanied by the appearance of intellectual trends represented many fields in modernizations like globalization, modernization and illumination ideas. The present study comes as an attempt to search in and investigate the relationship of the cognitive variables (renewal- conditioning)and the relation to other trends and tendencies towards the modernization for the university study. Therefore, the study aims at knowing the following: 1- The cognitive renewal method (renewal- conditioning) and the trend towards Baghdad university. 2- The trends towards modernization for Baghdad University students. 3- The relationship between cognitive method (renewal- conditioning) and the tendency towards modernization for Baghdad university. 4- The statistically significant difference in the cognitive method renewal- conditioning for Baghdad University students according to the variables: A. Gender (male - female) B. Specialization (scientific - human) 5. The statistically significant difference in the tendency towards modernization for students: A. Gender (male - female) B. Specialization (scientific - human) 6. The statistically significant difference between the renewalists and conditionists in the tendency towards modernization for students according to variables: A. Gender (male - female) B. Specialization (scientific - human) The researcher displayed the second chapter the variables of the study represented in the literature specialized specially the cognitive methods (renewal- conditioning), and Angles and Smith's theory is adopted in tendency towards modernization. In order to achieve the goals of the study, the researcher built a scale to measure tendency towards modernization and he adopted Kerton's method for the (renewal- conditioning) method. They were applied on a sample made up of 400 students in Baghdad university distributed into all fields and stages. The researcher performed the required in the study. After collecting the data and treating them statistically, the researcher comes up the results: 1. The sample of the study have renewal method. 2. The university students (male and female) in the high positive trends. 3. There is a positive relationship between the method (renewal- conditioning) and tendency towards modernization. 5. The statistically significant difference between the renewa list method and conditionist method for the male in gender, and for the human specialty in specialization. 5. The statistically significant difference between students in the tendency towards modernization for the male in gender, and for the human specialty in specialization. 6- the researcher puts a number of suggestions: 1. presenting cultural, social and technological programs by the university to enhance the cognitive contact between university students and the civilization renewals. 2. making a continuous study for modernization even though with the same fields and monitoring of the degrees of modernization for the university students.
