كان لإقليم كورينايكا دور مهم في بعض الأحداث التي شهدتها مصر. لم تكن العلاقات بين الليبيين والمصريين في عصر الأسرات عدائية دائما، إذ ظل التعامل السلمي قائما بين الطرفين حيث كان الدم الليبي غالبا في واحات الصحراء الغربية، ومن أبرز مظاهر هذا الاتصال السلمي اتخذ الملك خوفو زوجة ليبية من التمحو. إن الشكل الظاهر للعلاقات المصرية الليبية عبارة عن ظغط من الليبيين في الغرب في محاولة للاستيطان بمصر. يقابله صد من قبل المصريين في محاولة لمنعهم من تحقيق ذلك، ولكننا نجد أن القبائل الليبية كانت منتشرة خلال ما قبل الأسرات في الدلتا، ومختلفة بالمصريين، لدرجة أن المصري والليبي لن يكن يميز الحد الفاصل بين الدولتين. هناك دليل أخر يشير إلى العلاقات الطيبة بين الطرفين هو تعامل المصريين مع رجال القبائل الليبية كجند مرتزقة في الجيش المصري وكشرطة في الصحراء. إذا كان طبيعيا أن تكون الواحات بعدها ملجأ للهاربين من سلفة الدولة، وهو أمر منطقي فهم أخبر بالصحراء وأدرى بدروبها، حيث كانوا يرابطون هناك. أن الحكام الليبيين الذي حكموا مصر تطبعوا بالطابع المصر، ولكنهم لم ينسوا جذورهم تماما، والدليل على ذلك هو احتفاظهم بأسمائهم وألقابهم الليبية، وكذلك بإقامتهم علاقات جيدة مع ليبيا – إقليم كورينايكا. ولم يعتمدوا في حكمهم البلاد على قوة أخرى، أو يفرضوا على الشعب جزية لصالح بلاد أخر. التفاعل الحضاري، وأثر الليبيون في عادات المصريين وتأثروا بها.
