|f This article examines silence in a class of novels that are subject to politics. While (the political novel), usually, was based on the statement and the divulgence in the speech of the personalities occupied its space, the novel (Eastern Mediterranean) by Abdulrahman Munif gives optional and deliberate textual silence the greatest place as a rhetoric strategy aimed at hitting a certain objective. It has its own procedures and expressive abilities. |a يدرس هذا المقال الصمت في صنف من الروايات موضوعها السياسة. ولئن قامت (الرواية السياسية)،- عادة- على التصريح والبوح فاحتلت العبارة في خطاب الشخصيات فضاءها، فإن رواية (شرق المتوسط) لعبد الرحمان منيف تمنح الصمت النصي الاختياري والمقصود المكانة الكبرى باعتباره استراتيجية خطابية تروم إصابة هدف معين، وتمتلك إجراءاتها وقدراتها التعبيرية الخاصة. وهذا يسمح لنا بملاحظة وسائل إدراج الصمت في الخطاب إما بديلا من الكلام أو مثبتا في العبارة.

|d L’article étudie le silence dans un type de romans dont le thème est la politique. Et si l’explicitation et l’aveu forment –habituellementle fondement du «roman politique», et que la parole occupait dans le discours des personnages son espace, le roman «Sharq el moutawasset» de l’auteur Abderrahmane Mounif attribue au silence textuel volontaire et intentionnel la position majeure en tant qu’une stratégie discursive qui vise un but bien défini et possède ses propres procédés et capacités expressives. Ceci nous permet de constater les moyens utilisés pour insérer le silence dans le discours soit comme substitution de langage, ou ancré dans la parole.
