المستخلص: Cet article décrit la personnalité de Mohammed El Aziz Kessous comme une figure de l'élite francophone en Algérie. Formé par l’école coloniale, il a décelé avec précision les contradictions entre les idées de l'école de la République française et les attentes de la société algérienne. Dans son ouvrage publié au milieu des années 30 du XXe siècle il a analysé la réalité du malaise algérien qui a conduit à des tensions dans la société algérienne. Il a également exposé ses positions sur les réformes du système de l'éducation engagées en montrant qu’elles n’ont pas garanti le droit à la vie à tous les Algériens.

يسلط هذا المقال الضوء حول شخصية محمد العزيز كسوس المتميزة بثقافتها المنتمية إلى النخبة المفرنسة في الجزائر، والتي تلقت تكوينها من المدرسة الكولونيالية التي كانت سببا في صقل أفكاره، وأدرك من خلال دراسته مدى عمق التناقضات البارزة بين حقيقة مدرسة الجمهورية الفرنسية ومتطلبات المجتمع الجزائري، وقد عبر عن ذلك الكتاب الذي أصدره خلال منتصف عقد الثلاثينيات من القرن العشرين ووصف الوضع الذي كان سائدا بالضيق أو الغمة الجزائرية التي تسببت السياسة الكولونيالية في استفحالها مما أدى إحداث التوترات في المجتمع الجزائري،. كما نتناول في هذا المقال آراء وأفكار هذه الشخصية حول إصلاحات التعليم الكولونيالي في الجزائر مطالبا بإصلاحه ليوفر للجزائريين حق التعلم وحق الحياة في جميع الأطوار وفي مختلف الأنواع.

This article describes the personality of Mohammed El Aziz Kessous as a figure of the French elite in Algeria. Trained by the colonial school, he accurately detected the contradictions between the ideas of the school of the French Republic and the expectations of Algerian society. In his book published in the mid-30s of the twentieth century he analyzed the reality of the Algerian malaise that led to tensions in the Algerian society. He also exposed his position regarding the education system reforms undertaken, showing that these reforms did not guarantee the right to life to all Algerians.
